-
Sale or Transfer of the Business

Transferring Your Personal Information
The third party service providers identified in this Policy are located outside of Canada. These countries have different privacy laws that may or may not be as comprehensive as Canadian law. Your personal information may be stored, accessed or used in the United States and may be subject to the laws and access by government, courts, law enforcement, or regulatory organizations in those jurisdictions.
By submitting your personal information or engaging with the App, you consent to this transfer, storage, or processing of your personal information outside of Canada.
If you have any questions about Bit Labs’ policies and practices with respect to service providers outside of Canada, including its collection, use, disclosure, and storage of personal information, you can contact the Bit Labs Privacy Officer at the contact information listed in this Policy.
Security And Protection Of Your Personal Information
The security of your personal information is very important to us. We use security arrangements to protect against unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, and disposal, in a manner appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. As well, Bit Labs will use care when destroying or disposing of personal information to prevent unauthorized access, use or disclosure of any personal information. Bit Labs’ employees and independent contractors with access to personal information are required to respect the confidentiality of such information.
The safety and security of your personal information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our App, you are responsible for keeping it confidential. Bit Labs is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or compromised usernames, passwords or for any activity on your Account (which includes your bitcoin wallet) via unauthorized password activity. You should take steps to protect against authorized access to your Account by, for example, choosing a robust password and keeping your username and password private.
Bit Labs does store a User’s private keys relating to a User’s bitcoin wallet used in the App. This means that it is very important that you retain a record of your username, email address, password and the wallet recovery backup phrase. If you lose this information, Bit Labs will not be able to recover your bitcoin wallet for you and you may lose access to your cryptocurrency. You should store this information in a highly secure place. Any person who gets their hands on it will gain access to your funds.
We urge you to be careful about giving out personal information in public areas of the App like commenting on another User’s posts if that User has a public profile, which any User can view. We offer all Users the ability to make their Account “private”, which means that only Users who they have accepted as followers can view and comment on their posts, and send them messages. If your Account is not private, then any User can view and comment on your posts, and send you a message on the App’s message feature. We also offer all Users the ability to modify message settings (for example, you may limit those who can message you from anyone, to those you follow, or to your subscribers.)
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet and mobile platforms is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted through the App. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any App privacy settings or security measures. Bit Labs is not responsible for any failure by you to secure your own device(s) and its access to the Internet or your use of public, unsecured networks.
The App may include links to external websites. Once you leave the App this Policy does not apply. Bit Labs is not responsible for the privacy practices, collection of personal information, or content of external websites.
Retention Of Your Personal Information
Except as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law, we will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Under some circumstances we may anonymize or aggregate your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you. We reserve the right to use such anonymous and de-identified data for any legitimate business purpose without further notice to you or your consent.
Children Under The Age Of 13
Our App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may provide any information to or on the App. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on this App or on or through any of its features/register on the App, make any purchases through the App, use any of the interactive or public comment features of this App, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any username you may use. You are responsible for keeping the personal information in your Account up to date and accurate. Certain minimum personal information must be input in your Account in order to use the App’s services. For example, you must provide us with your e-mail address.
If you delete your User Contributions from the App, copies of your User Contributions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or might have been copied or stored by other App users.
You can challenge the accuracy and completeness of your personal information in the possession and control of Bit Labs. In appropriate circumstances, Bit Labs will amend the information. When you contact Bit Labs, we may ask for further information to confirm your identity and the nature of the information being sought.
After we receive your request for access to personal information, Bit Labs will provide you with an estimate of when you can expect a response. In some cases, Bit Labs may need additional time to respond to a request, in which case we will provide you with written notice of the extension. Please note that in some cases, Bit Labs may not provide access to personal information that we hold about you, such as where the denial of access is authorized by law. There are also cases where Bit Labs may be legally required to refuse access to personal information. If Bit Labs denies your request for access to personal information, we will advise you of the reason for the refusal, and will provide the name, title, and contact information of the designated person who can address the refusal.
Bit Labs may charge a reasonable fee according to the cost required to retrieve and provide access to the requested information. We may provide an estimate of the fee in advance and in some cases, will require a deposit for all or part of the fee.
Changes To Our Privacy Policy
Bit Labs may update this Policy from time to time by posting a new version of the Policy on the App. If there are significant changes made to the Policy, we may notify Users in advance through the App or by e-mail. Bit Labs’ collection, use, disclosure, and retention of your personal information will be governed by the version of the Policy in effect at that time. We suggest that you review this Policy periodically.
Governing Law
Those who choose to use or access the App and/or the Services from outside Canada do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, if and to the extent local laws are applicable. Notwithstanding the foregoing, and recognizing the global nature of the Internet, each User shall comply with all local rules regarding online conduct and submission of acceptable materials. This Policy is governed and interpreted pursuant to the laws of the province of British Columbia, Canada and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to principles of conflicts of law that would impose the law of another jurisdiction.
